Public Art, Monuments & Memorials
Overview
Nurtured over two decades, his sculptural practice encompasses monumental works, public art, monuments and memorials conceived in response to place, history and collective experience. Developed through an ongoing exploration of material, form and cultural memory, these works are designed to engage with their surroundings and establish a lasting presence within the public realm. A major exhibition at Bowman Sculpture presented both collaborative and individual works, alongside his individual gallery representation. This period marked an important stage in the development of his practice, establishing a foundation for a more independent programme of private commissions and site-specific projects. Today, Samuel undertakes selected commissions for collectors, institutions, estates and public spaces, working from initial research and conceptual development through to the realisation of ambitious sculptural works. Site-specific private commissions begin at £165,000. Given the research, development, specialist collaboration and production required, projects often take several years to realise. Prospective commissioners are invited to enquire in advance to discuss future opportunities and join the waiting list for projects.
